Wells Fargo WinterSkate

Capital City Partnership, the City of St. Paul, and Wells Fargo invite you to experience Wells Fargo WinterSkate, downtown St. Paul’s free, outdoor, artificially-chilled ice skating rink. The 2007/2008 rink season is November 24, 2007 through February 3, 2008.

Skaters are invited to experience the unique urban setting of downtown St. Paul. Located in the heart of the city, Wells Fargo WinterSkate creates a fun, winter experience for visitors of all ages. The historic Landmark Center creates a beautiful backdrop for the outdoor rink, showcasing St. Paul’s charming European architecture and old-world ambiance. A community hearth in Landmark Plaza adds a warm, inviting place for family and friends to gather next to the rink.

In addition to Wells Fargo WinterSkate, adjacent Rice Park powered by Xcel Energy will capture the spirit of the holiday season with a tree as tall and bright as the iconic Rockefeller Center tree in New York City. A 75-foot tree in Rice Park will be lit 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from November 24, 2007 through January 1, 2008. The park will sparkle with millions of twinkling lights, classic Nutcracker and angel statues, and other holiday décor.

Snow or no snow, you can count on seeing happy skaters enjoying Wells Fargo WinterSkate at Landmark Plaza. We invite you and your whole family to “dust off” your skates and head to downtown St. Paul. The outdoor rink will be filled with noontime employee skaters, after school groups, youth hockey scrimmages and practices, broomball teams, corporate events, and family open skating.
